Woman Injured When School Bus Backs Over Car
A Siler City woman was injured Friday morning after her car ran under a school bus, the Highway Patrol said.

A bus taking students to Jordan Matthews High School was trying to turn around on West Dolphin Street at about 7:15 a.m. when Moffitt's Honda Civic ran under the bus, troopers said.
Chatham County Schools spokeswoman Beth McCallah said the backup lights and alarm were functioning on the bus and that bus driver Laura Moffitt followed procedure by asking the students in the rear of the bus to double-check behind the bus and by blowing the horn as she backed up.
It was unclear whether Laura Moffitt and Deborah Moffitt are related.
Students were transferred to a different bus and were taken to school. Parents were notified by automated phone message of the wreck, and a letter was sent home with students on Friday, McCallah said.
No one on the bus was injured, she said.
