Woman identified in fatal Fayetteville pedestrian wreck

— Fayetteville police on Tuesday released the name of a woman killed Saturday night when she was hit by a car.

Investigators said Najenia Nicole Cary, 34, of the 1000 block of Bowden Road in Fayetteville, was walking across Country Club Drive, at Distribution Drive, around 9:15 p.m. when Kevin Gregory Camps, 56, hit her with his 2003 Mercedes.

Police are still investigating the wreck and have not indicated whether charges will be filed.

    People always jaywalking in that area and, in fact, all over the city. how about installing some pedestrian bridges (over the traffic, completely closed in) like they have in Fort Benning GA area? Sad but you cant see them at night and most of the time they wear dark clothing. sad...

    There is a crosswalk about 20 yards from Distribution Drive and Country Club Drive in front of the Hurcules Steel bus stop.

    Condolences to the family ~ Does anyone know if there is a crosswalk here? or just a "take your chance" type of dash?
