Woman hit by suspected drunk driver in Clayton; driver assaulted by witnesses

Two people were injured Saturday night after a suspected drunk driver hit a woman in a parking lot and then was assaulted by witnesses following a birthday party in Clayton.

CLAYTON, N.C. — Two people were injured Saturday night after a suspected drunk driver hit a woman in a parking lot and then was assaulted by witnesses following a birthday party in Clayton.

According to authorities, Nastassia Donyun Little, 29, was hit by a car driven by Jose Carlos Colon, 39, shortly after 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the American Legion building at 1200 Old U.S. Highway 70.

Little was treated for a broken leg at WakeMed.

According to witnesses, Carlos was assaulted following incident by attendees at the party and was taken to WakeMed for non-life threatening injuries.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless and reckless driving.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities say charges are pending against a person or persons who assaulted Carlos.
