Woman found dead in Garner motel room had been missing for days

Officials are investigating the death of a woman at a Garner motel.

According to officials in Johnston County, one woman was found dead in her motel room early Wednesday at the Super 8 located at 101 Leone Court in Garner. Police say they do not expect foul play.

Officers in Clayton said they received a call on Tuesday that a woman had been missing for a day or two. When officers found out that the woman had stayed in the Super 8 before, deputies went to investigate.

According to Clayton officials, the woman died as a result of an apparent suicide.

Police say drugs and chemicals were involved, which resulted in firefighters and a hazmat team responding to the scene.
