Woman faces charge for collision with Highway Patrol cruiser
A woman will be charged for running into a parked state Highway Patrol vehicle Monday on Interstate 40 in Raleigh.
Posted — UpdatedTrooper Michael Davidson was sitting in his cruiser on the left shoulder of I-40 East near Lake Wheeler Road when a vehicle approached from the rear.
The driver of that car, Shynowa Lee Lertjuntharangool, faces a charge of failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, said Sgt. Jeff Gordon of the Highway Patrol.
Lertjuntharangool, 27, of 120 Lake View Court in Raleigh, veered to the left to avoid hitting another car and struck the cruiser.
Both drivers were treated at WakeMed for non-life-threatening injuries.
