A woman was taken to the hospital after driving her car into a pool at Cheyenne Mountain Resort Monday morning.

<b>COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.</b> — A woman was taken to the hospital after driving her car into a pool at Cheyenne Mountain Resort Monday morning.

The driver, who is in her 70s, told police her brakes weren't working and she hit the gas instead, according to TV station KRDO.

The car went up a hill, hit a fence and went airborne before landing in the pool.

A man walking nearby jumped into the pool to help the woman get out of the car, KRDO reports.

The driver was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. An update on her condition wasn't immediately available.
