Woman drives car into Clayton convenience store; no injuries reported

Posted August 5

— Nobody was injured after a woman drove her car through the front of a Clayton convenience store Saturday evening.

Authorities said Sara Holder drove her car through the Clayton Mart at 208 E. Main Street at about 5:30 p.m.

Holder claimed her foot slipped on the gas pedal, causing the crash, according to Stacy Beard with the town of Clayton.

Holder was charged with a moving violation.

The store will remain closed until an inspector can ensure the building is structurally sound, authorities said.
