— A woman who was wounded early Sunday in a shooting outside a Rocky Mount club died Wednesday morning, police said.

Jordan Olivia Moody, 19, was shot in the head outside Club Element, at 1127 Benvenue Road, after a fender-bender in the parking lot led to an altercation that escalated into gunfire, police said.

Jerez Montre Norwood, 21, and Tyshawn Adams, 26, also were wounded in the incident.

Shaki Darrell Jones, 21, no address available, was initially charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Rocky Mount police said they plan to upgrade one of the assault charges to first-degree murder.

Jones was being held Wednesday in the Nash County Jail under a $95,000 secured bond, but police said they would request he be held without bond after filing the murder charge against him.

Randy Kay Sharpe, 25, no address available, has been charged with two counts of aiding and abetting assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police said they plan to upgrade one of those charges to aiding and abetting murder.

Jordan was a beautiful person and it is tragic that she has lost her life in such a senseless way. The world lost a truly amazing person in this, and color does not matter. I feel sorry for those of you who are so quick to judge based on race.

Some of these comments being made are really pathetic. A wonderful person has lost their life in such a senseless manner and you show no sympathy. I feel sorry for some of you people.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jordan's family!

"gosh this happened at a black club??"

This is a dumb comment. Why did you even say this? She was a person and it is not a color thing.

bmg379 did you really just say that? Of all the things you could or should have said that was the worst idea? A young life was lost actually 3 including the people involved and going to prison, and it's a tragic state when all we can do is question the race of the people involved. Time to start thinking proactively instead of reactively. What do you do to help society where this is not acceptable? Hopefully not fly a certain flag and wear a bed sheet?

humm let's see...someone dents my car and I just happen to have a gun on me so I shoot them in the head. Is that how it went?

To "bmg379" and "IceCreamMan", the two of you are the reason the "South" has a bad reputation. Here an innocent life is lost and all you can comment on is the fact that this is a "black club" or "Rocky Mount needs to be exterminated asap". How pathetic the two of you are and only prayer and the will of God can change such reprobate minds!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Moody family. Jordan will be missed by many. Jordan was a beautiful, vibrant, and loving young woman. Such a beautiful life taken away in such a senseless manner. You will always be loved!! RIP Jordan.
