GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Police on Thursday charged a woman with stealing almost $200,000 from a Goldsboro medical practice.

Deborah Jean Holland, no age or address available, was charged with embezzlement greater than $100,000. She was being held in the Wayne County Jail under a $50,000 bond.

A physician with Goldsboro OB-GYN asked police last month to investigate money missing from the practice. Investigators determined Holland used business credit cards and checks to amass nearly $200,000 in purchases from March 2005 through early October of last year.

Holland was the business manager for the practice until she was fired in October, police said.
