Woman charged in Sanford slaying

— A Sanford woman has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a man late Friday, police said Monday.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 105 Gordon St. at about 11 p.m. Friday and found Lee Allen Hancock in the bedroom of an apartment with a stab wound to the chest, police said.

Hancock, 50, of 105 Gordon St., Apt. 2, was pronounced dead at Central Carolina Hospital.

Linda Denise Ellison, 37, of the same address, was charged with murder in the case and was being held Monday in the Lee County jail without bond.

No information was released as to a possible motive in the slaying or the relationship between Hancock and Ellison.

    I kinda doubt that she would be charged with murder if the investigation showed self defence.

    Very sure. If they cannot think that life is precious that they have to resort to taking life themselves; then they now deserved to spend the rest of their life in prison. So continue to cover up for her wrong doing. A man is dead because of her. Anything else?

    Wildcat, are u sure about life in prison??????????? Betcha a Whopper with cheese, depending on how "important " these 2 individuals are, plead guilty to inv. manslaughter, get probation. Only time served will be spent waiting for court.
