Woman Arrested as Accomplice in Durham Officer's Shooting
Federal authorities Tuesday arrested a Durham woman on charges she destroyed evidence after Officer D.B. Vereen was shot on Sept. 23.
Posted — UpdatedCity police said U.S. Marshals and the FBI had taken Elwanda Robertson, 29, of Belmont Drive, into custody after they found her in a car at Liberty and Spruce streets.
Police did not disclose what evidence they believe Robertson destroyed.
Robertson was charged with being an accessory after the fact in the shooting of Officer D.B. Vereen, who was wounded in the back and arm while responding to a break-in in progress at 1410-A Cherrycrest Drive.
Authorities are still looking for Kevin Johnson, 24. Johnson is facing the same charges as Williams.
