Woman, 52, charged in Southern Pines shooting

A 52-year-old woman was arrested Friday after a shooting at a home in Southern Pines, according to the Moore County Sheriff's Office.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — A 52-year-old woman was arrested Friday after a shooting at a home in Southern Pines, according to the Moore County Sheriff's Office.

Susan Slacum Barrett is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury.

Authorities say Barrett shot a man at a home in the 800 block of Yadkin Road at about 3:40 p.m. The man's name has not been released, and no details about his injuries were available.

After the shooting, Barrett drover herself to the Southern Pines Police Department, where she was arrested.

She was being held in the Moore County jail Saturday with no bond.

No other details about the shooting have been released.
