With mom in Italy, indulge but let someone else take photos

FLORENCE, Italy — If you and your parents are fans of food, history and museums, consider a family trip to Italy.
Depending on their age, though, you may need to slow down a bit as you tour Florence, Milan and the Tuscan countryside. Plan for a private tour of the rolling hills and vineyards, avoid stairs as much as you can and make reservations way in advance for top attractions like "The Last Supper."
Quality hotels can make it easier with concierge services, reservations and answers to every question. Don't schedule too many museums or landmarks in one day.
Focus on food, which is easy to do in Italy, but don't limit yourself to sit-down restaurants. Relax in open-air cafes and try food markets like the Mercato Centrale in Florence.
