As I posted on Sunday, September is National Coupon Month! It is the official month of the coupon and to celebrate, we'll have extra giveaways on the blog all month long!

But first… a little history.

According to the PMA (Promotion Marketing Association), the first recorded coupons were handwritten from Coca-Cola in 1886. That’s 127 years ago! Imagine all the coupons that have been redeemed in the last 127 years. By 1965, one half of Americans were using coupons and in 2011, according to NCH Marketing Services, couponers saved 4.6 BILLION dollars using coupons! Way to go Smart Shoppers!

In 1998, couponers around the globe (not really) began celebrating National Coupon Month every September and this is why we are celebrating!
