FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A wing of the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center was shut down briefly Thursday morning after someone reported a suspicious package, Cumberland County authorities said.

Emergency response teams responded to the hospital, at 2300 Ramsey St., around 11 a.m. and cordoned off a wing of the hospital's main campus, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Authorities said that they found no threat to the hospital.

Operations in other parts of the medical center were not affected.
