Wilson officer placed on leave after wreck

— A Wilson police officer has been placed on administrative leave after being involved in a single-vehicle wreck in Pitt County Sunday morning, spokeswoman Kolly Burritt said Friday.

Burritt said the officer was off duty but was driving a marked Wilson police cruiser. The officer, whose name wasn't released, is also the subject of an internal investigation.

More details about the wreck haven't been released. An investigation by the state Highway Patrol was ongoing.

    Well, a single car accident, looks like someone is in need of some more of those fantastic driving skills they teach LEO's. Funny thing is, he was probably texting while driving!!!
