Posted July 11

Investigators are searching for an armed man whose wig disguise fell off as he robbed a State Employees Credit Union in Wilson on July 7, 2014.

— Police said Friday that a Wilson man has been arrested in connection with a Monday robbery of a State Employees Credit Union branch.

Antonio D. Pitt, 20, of 906 Lakeside Drive, was charged with armed robbery and was being held in the Wilson County jail under a $500,000 bond.

Pitt was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 in Nash County, police said. The Wilson Police Department, Nash County Sheriff's Office, the State Highway Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest.

A man walked into the credit union at 3990 Ward Blvd. Monday morning, displayed a weapon and demanded money. A wig he was wearing fell off during the robbery, and he fled the area on a bicycle.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Wilson police at 252-399-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 252-243-2255.
