Wilson grocery robbed at gunpoint

A clerk from Jordan's Grocery in Wilson was hospitalized Friday after he was shot in a hold-up at the store, police said.

WILSON, N.C. — A clerk from Jordan's Grocery in Wilson was hospitalized Friday after he was shot in a hold-up at the store, police said.

Himoud Ahmad Al-Awamleh, 51, was being treated at Vidant Medical Center, according to Wilson Police. They did not say how seriously he was injured.

Al-Awamleh was able to give police only a vague description of the three men who robbed him just before midnight Thursday evening or the vehicle they used for their getaway.
