Wilson blaze under investigation

Wilson authorities are investigating a suspicious fire caused damaged vehicles and several homes early Wednesday.

WILSON, N.C. — Wilson authorities are investigating a suspicious fire that damaged vehicles and several homes early Wednesday.

The fire was reported at 12:55 a.m. at 4746 Ward Blvd., police said. When firefighters arrived, they found an out-building fully engulfed in flames. The fire soon spread to 4742 Ward Blvd. and caught some vehicles on fire. The fire also spread to 4748 Ward Blvd. and burned through yard debris.

The property located behind the houses on Ward Boulevard, 1001 Academy St., also suffered damaged to a house, barn and shelter.

Crews extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.
