Williamson County Deputies Sieze $103,915 During Traffic Stop

The Williamson County Interdiction Unit seized $103,915 in cash hidden in the front quarter panels of a 2001 Nissan Maxima, driven by Juan Pablo Chavarria-Rodriguez.

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS — The Williamson County Interdiction Unit seized $103,915 in cash hidden in the front quarter panels of a 2001 Nissan Maxima, driven by Juan Pablo Chavarria-Rodriguez.

Deputies stopped Chavarria-Rodriguez for following to closely on Interstate 35 around 1:00 pm (Local CST).

Sheriff's officials said in a press release that Chavarria-Rodriguez was traveling from Dallas to Mexico, where he is citizen.

Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody said "our deputies are well trained and determined to stop illegal activity in our county."

Chavarria-Rodriguez was booked into the Williamson County Jail on charges of Money Laundering, where he remains in custody.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office says that there is still an on going investigation.

Williamson County, Texas is a suburb north of Austin and is in the Austin, Texas metroplitan area.
