Williamson County corrections deputy arrested

Georgetown, Texas — Williamson County Sheriff's officials announced on Tuesday that they had arrested Richard Acuna, Jr., a correctional officer with the Williamson County Jail on charges of possession of controlled substance, which is a 2nd degree felony.
Deputies from the Williamson County Sheriff's office, along side K-9 detectives conducted what is being called an open air search on a vehicle parked in the public parking garage of the Williamson County jail on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m.
During the search the departments K-9, Nemo alerted deputies to a positive alert on Acuna's car. That is when deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered cocaine in the vehicle.
A spokesperson for the Williamson County Sheriff's Office told the Hill Country Tribune on Tuesday evening that Acuna was on duty and that an investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody who is always transparent and candid with the media and on social media took to Twitter saying "1bad apple doesn't reflect all of us @ WilCo. If you can't serve with honor you need not apply. We hold you accountable."
