William Peace University announced Monday that it will freeze tuition for the 2013-14 school year.

Tuition will stay at $23,700, the same level as the 2012-13 school year. The freeze comes after a 7.73 percent reduction in tuition for fall 2012.

"Affordability, accessibility and accountability have been the three guiding principles William Peace University has emphasized in recent years and will continue to support in the future," university president Debra M. Townsley said. "By holding tuition at its current level, the university is offering students the chance to attend classes and study at a rate lower than most similar private institutions."

Several cost-saving programs allowed tuition to be frozen, including rainwater harvesting and reduction in the cost of the university's annual viewbook.
