Wife shoots husband in Fayetteville domestic incident

— A 34-year-old woman was arrested Monday evening for allegedly shooting her husband during a domestic incident.

Nichole Leon is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and assault in the presence of a minor. The couple’s child was inside the home during the shooting but was not injured.

The shooting occurred at the couple’s home on the 5500 block of Hedrick Drive at approximately 5 p.m. Leon’s husband was shot in his left hand and left shoulder, police said. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was last listed in stable condition.

Leon remained at the Cumberland County Detention Center Monday night with no bond.

Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.

    What Fayetteville making their own laws "assault in the presence of a minor" never heard of that one. What if she was just protecting herself?

    If you click on the Google map, you'll notice the couple lives just a few blocks from "Bill Clayton's Tattoo World". I wonder if hubby came home with some new ink declaring his love for his wife, "Nikole"

    There are more made baloney laws than you can shake a stick at. Would never convict someone of such a ridiculous law.

    So, it's not always the husband. Then it's the wife.

    Guns kill relatives, friends, and shooters almost exclusively. Plus animals that would be happy to spared the Fall carnage.
