Wife killed, husband hurt in Onslow motorcycle crash

Onslow County, N.C. — A Pender County woman was killed and her husband injured when their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck Sunday in Onslow County.
State trooopers said Sally Brumfield, 47, of Maple Hill, was riding on the motorcycle driven by her husband, Edward Earl Brumfield, when the truck made a left turn in front of them on Garganus Road, near N.C. Highway 53.
Sally Brumfield died from her injuries. Edward Brumfield was taken to New Hanover County Medical Center. His condition was unknown.
The pickup truck driver, Robert Wooten, suffered minor injuries and is charged with misdemeanor death and failure to yield, authorities said.
