Posted May 8, 2015

Whole Foods

Whole Foods has announced that they are opening a new chain of "hip-cool technology-oriented" stores geared towards millennials and offering lower-prices.

The new stores will be smaller and target younger shoppers in the 18 to 34 age range. They will begin opening in 2016 and Whole Foods said it would release more information about the new chain this summer.

Do you shop at Whole Foods? What do you think about the new store concept?

This would be great, especially since my husband and I are changing our diet and eating "cleaner" foods.
I went out on a limb and cancelled our paper since I don't use the coupons as often. Is there anyway to save money when you are trying to buy organic food?
Thanks for all you do to help us save money!

Dr D - now that is funny!

Yes it will definitely be interesting to see where the new chain will fall on the price spectrum. It crossed my mind to wonder if the folks who nicknamed WF as "Whole Paycheck" might dub the new chain "Only Half Paycheck" or something similarly silly sounding.

    tightwad - agreed!

It will be interesting to see how must less expensive the prices will actually be and how they will compare to Trader Joe's and Aldi.

Any competition is good in my mind... especially if it involves healthy food, cheaper! :-)

I'm kind of excited about the new stores. I think all of us in JoCo should email blast them to open a store here.

Wish more stores would model Aldi - or that Aldi would just open more stores.

Sounds like they are trying to tap into the trader joes market.
