Whitakers woman killed in Nash County wreck
Betty Vines was southbound on Red Oak Road at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when she drove off the left side of the road, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedRED OAK, N.C. — A Whitakers woman was killed late Wednesday in a single-vehicle wreck, authorities said.
Betty Vines, 43, was southbound on Red Oak Road at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when she drove off the left side of the road, authorities said. Her vehicle hit a culvert and overturned, and she was ejected.
Authorities said they suspect speed was a factor in the wreck and said Vines wasn't wearing a seat belt. They said they don't suspect alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
