So you’ve rendered it best to jump on the Panthers’ bandwagon or maybe you've been loyal from the start. If you’ve decided to make the trip to Charlotte this weekend when the Carolina Panthers take on the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the playoffs, there are a lot of places to watch the game that don’t involve forking over $200 for nosebleed seats.

While tailgating is a process in itself, there are other options if you’re trying to avoid the cold while consuming your fill of calories both liquid and solid along with all the game action you can watch.

Without further ado, here is a list of recommendations for the best restaurants and bars close to Bank of America Stadium to give you the best possible viewing experience without having to actually go through the gates.

If you don’t mind crowds:

The Doghouse – Located directly across from Bank of America Stadium, The Doghouse is small, yet extremely popular. On game day you can find a full bar, indoor seating, loud music and a live WFNZ broadcast. Be prepared to park elsewhere, as people pile out into the parking lot to tailgate beforehand.
All American Pub and The Oak Room – Think of this as two huge bars combined into one, and you’ll have a pretty good image of what you’re going to get if you decide All American is the place you want to be. This restaurant features a stretching outdoor patio, couches and giant flat screens plastered all over the bar. During commercial breaks, the bar is known to blare music, so be prepared. Go here if you don’t mind standing for the majority of the game. Drinks and appetizers are priced moderately and are easily accessible.
Jocks & Jill’s Sports Bar – A little less rowdy than All American Pub, this bar is the place to go if you would prefer a sit-down type of place. With plenty of televisions and a quality beer menu, you won't regret choosing this one.

If you want good food:

Dilworth Neighborhood Grille – One of the most popular spots to check out a game in Charlotte, this bar is located on the outskirts of uptown in South End and includes a Sunday brunch buffet, classic tailgating finger foods and plenty of space. With two levels and an outdoor bar, this should be a foolproof option for watching the game. The restaurant even has shuttles that will take you to the stadium if you do have a ticket, but want to grab a bite to eat before heading to the stadium.
Duckworths’ Grill and Taphouse – Not to be confused with Dilworth Grille, Duckworth’s is located within walking distance to the Panthers stadium in uptown Charlotte. They have a lot of local, craft beers and a great selection of food. The walls are essentially lined with TVs, so you’re guaranteed not to miss a single play.
Bonz Smoke & Taphouse – If you’re looking for some southern food that goes well with football, Bonz is the place for you. Located minutes from uptown, the menu features items such as Peel-N-Eat shrimp steamed in local NC beer, garlic and herb tater tots, and Nashville chicken skewers. The 35 televisions playing the game should be considered the added bonus.
