Waldo, the bespectacled star of the long-running search-and-find series, is hiding out in shops across Raleigh through the end of July.

Part of an annual event that encourages shoppers to support their local stores, nearly two dozen merchants - from ice cream and dessert shops to book and hardware stores - are participating.

To take part, you just need to pick up a Find Waldo Local in Raleigh passport and get your passport stamped or signed for each Waldo that you spot in the participating sites. Collect 10 or more store stamps or signatures and be entered into a grand prize drawing on Aug. 6 to win a six-volume deluxe set of Waldo books. This year, participants can also #ColorWaldoAndWin. Just share a completed coloring sheet of Waldo on Instagram and be entered into a drawing to be one of five winners of a deluxe prize pack.

Here's where to find Waldo in Raleigh:

We started our search on Friday at Treat, the ice cream shop in downtown Raleigh.
