Gator Girll - that does sound good! Thanks for sharing. I'm going to pick up my soup veggies at Aldi tomorrow to make veggie soup on Thursday or Friday. Yay for soup season!

Faye, the soup has 4 cups of chicken stock and after the sweet potatoes are soft you can mash some to thicken the soup and then put in 1/2 cup of half and half to finish.

Tonight we are having bagels, cream cheese and smoked salmon with side of apple slices. Light and easy for a very busy day. :-)

meredith88- what a neat memory! Let us know if it tastes just like you remember.

Gator Girll- soup and corn bread - yum! Is it a cream based or more broth based soup?

RaleighFoodBlogger - pot roast and veggies sounds perfect for the next couple cooler days. And great idea on the walkie talkies! I love that! I miss being in walking distance to stores.

coupon4me - welcome back! Enjoy that delicious sounding steak!

Hello! We were away for a few days so just getting back into things.... Obviously since last nights dinner were leftovers, oatmeal and cereal ha!

The soup sounds so great for today!

Tonight we are having grilled steak marinated in Greek salad dressing, cucumber slices with the same dressing and sweet potatoes.

Meredith- I've never had goulash, looking forward to hearing how it all turns out!

Gator Girl- that soup sounds amazing!

And we're doing a pot roast with potatoes and carrots from the FL sale last week for the next few days. Love the cooler weather... especially since I'm walking to the grocery store these days. Love living in our Urban location- saves so much money. We even bought a set of $25 walkie talkies to use to communicate w/each other when I'm out and about running errand (w/in a mile radius) instead of adding another cell phone. Talk about frugal :)

Also having a side of corn bread to go with the soup.

Tonight I'm going to make something new, Ham and sweet potato soup. It seemed to fit in with the cooler, gloomier weather today.

Tonight we are having homemade goulash for dinner :-) It pairs nicely with this wonderful fall weather we've been having this week! This was my first time making goulash myself. It was my grandfather's favorite dish so my mom ate it every week growing up. I don't think I've had it in over a decade so I'm excited to be making it again! We'll have salads and fresh grapes to go with it.
