    jdouglas13 - Glad you made it back online! How was the cabbage creation? More importantly - how was dessert? lol

    meredith88 - don't you love those Aldi salad sales? I picked up the butter lettuce today, as well as tons of produce for the soup I just made.

    I haven't been posting much because:
    A. The keyboard is not working well again
    B. I haven't been cooking except for the roast chicken I made over the weekend. DW has been on her own to heat up soup, etc. I did make some chocolate chip cookies from some frozen dough I had stashed a couple of months ago.

    So, tonight I really had to cook. My poor DW was wasting away before my eyes. She may be sorry, though, because I am making a new, recipe-free, slow-cooker concoction: deconstructed/unstuffed cabbage made with layers of savoy cabbage, oven roasted grape tomatoes, and baked porcupine meatballs. Does anyone remember those? Chopped meat plus rice and seasonings formed into meatballs.

    Don't ask me how I dream up these things. Maybe I'd better make a really good dessert just in case... ;)

    Tonight we are having open faced meatball sandwiches. We made garlic toast for a party on Sunday and have some leftover. We always have red pasta sauce on hand and meatballs in the freezer from HT SD. That plus some cheese and we're set! Side salads from the salad sales at Aldi again this week.

    My coconut braised pork loin didn't smell as good as I would have liked last night so I made it into Asian pork dumplings. Shredded the pork added green onions (which I hope qualify for saving star - ha) and ginger and soy sauce. They were actually quite good. Sides were white rice and a teriyaki green giant veggie box mixed. The kids were split; one loved it - the other not so much.

    Tonight we have changed to high temperature eye of round roast with roasted carrots and onions and biscuits.

    I had planned to make a breakfast casserole for dinner but I am thinking about making soup instead. We'll see what happens. Maybe both! And I have 3 bananas that need to be used today so I am making banana bread tonight.

    walkerwest - my laundry also multiples when I turn my back. Except for the socks. They somehow disappear....

    Ascherer - packing is no fun, that's for sure! I hope she has a great time.

    ASCHERER, I definitely think you could make a business out of packing for people. Could you come to my house 3/24? I'd love to have someone pack for me!

    We're having chili tonight with corn muffins. About to go get some ground turkey to get it started.

    I'm late getting going this week after having a long weekend with school being out. I think the laundry took root & grew while we were gone. We couldn't have this much that needs to be done. Maybe the neighbors broke in & added to my pile..... hmmmm......

    Momma is on a morning flight out to start her next big adventure (trip). That means I now have to cook for myself. Tonight is leftover pot roast and Mac & Cheese. It was so late by the time we got her packed and started heated dinner, we didn't even bother with a veggie. There is something for me to eat and feed to the cats today. I will figure the rest of it out this afternoon.

    Packing for 10 days in a foreign country in only 1 checked bag (maximum size 30" x 21" x 18"), 1 carry on, and a purse (or backpack) is an interesting puzzle. We did it and everyone of her bags are no where near maximum size or weight limits. I'm getting to be a pro at this. I wonder if I can somehow make this into a business?
