I just put the chicken breast in the slow cooker with onions, spices and BBQ sauce. I'll serve it on rolls with steamed carrots and maybe mac & cheese as sides.

ybaverage2003 - Turkey pot pie sounds like it was a good choice. Leftovers are even better. lol

ascherer - It sounds like you will all have a lovely CHristmas together!

Jdouglas - your French toast sounds fabulous! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

carelesswhisper - I really like shrimp and grits but have never had fish and grits. That sounds good.

twinredheads - Have fun Christmas partying! :-)

Twinredheads, I choose your menu! In fact, that's what DW and I are planning to have tomorrow for dinner.

Last night was French toast and bacon. I tried a new method for the French toast batter. The recipe called for adding about 3/8 cup of flour to a mixture of five eggs, 1-1/2 cups of milk, a pinch of salt, a splash of vanilla, and a tablespoon of sugar. The flour and sugar gave the batter a bit of body and helped the toast brown nicely. Actually, it was the best French toast I've had in a long time.

Tonight might be ravioli and sausage, maybe with a little salad. I had the FL store brand small ravioli recently, and thought it was really good and fresh tasting. Much better than Celentano, and very reasonably priced.

Ascherer, if I don't get to say it to you tomorrow, give your Momma a little extra hug for me for Christmas. I'm so happy for her that she has all her chicks in the nest this year. :)

Last night was breakfast for dinner. It did turn into omelets. Tonight is gourmet buffet. Either it gets eaten or it gets pitched. Momma is doing ham and turkey for Christmas Day. I will need fridge space for the leftovers. My brother and SIL have to leave Christmas morning to be with my SIL's Mom. Then they go to her sisters for another Christmas feast that day. All I can say to them is welcome home. This is the first time in 30+ years they have lived close enough that everyone wants to see them for the holiday. I just know Momma is going to be so happy to have her children and their spouses in her house for Christmas Eve.
