Well the Biker Bar turned out to be a bust. They were closed. I'm glad we found that out before the Ladies tried to go next Wednesday. I can just imagine this group for silver haired Ladies standing outside the biker bar trying to figure out what to do next. That would be a picture for the local newspaper. :-)

garnertoy , Welcome back. We missed you and your menus. You cook like I do and you give me great ideas to help me. I'm not good planner for meals so thanks for you help.

MEREDITH88 - What AWESOME FUN ! I hope all enjoy and learn
ASCHERER - A Biker Bar ?? Well you can mark that off your "bucket list" after tonight !
My mother would have thought you meant "schwinn bikes " .
Tonight: swedish type meatballs with creamy gravy , over no yolk noodles, sides include peas and carrots ( maybe mixed ?).

Meredith - You are a better woman than me. I may need to go on one of these Scout meetings when you are teaching cooking.

Meredith, your s'mores cones sound wonderful and I just so happen to have a box of sugar cones in the pantry. How exactly do you make them? I may have DW crank up the grill after dinner.

RFB - I do use the parm rinds, both in soup and in sauce. That's a great deal! I usually have quite a stash in the freezer. Your Dijon-thyme potatoes sound wonderful.

Ascherer - have fun at the biker bar with your Momma!! I wish I could be a fly on the wall. :) It's been quite a few years since I've been in a bar, but they used to have the best food, especially burgers.

I found a couple of yellow peppers in the fridge that I had forgotten I had, so tonight is stuffed yellow peppers with rice, mushrooms, spinach, crispy prosciutto, and parm. Krispy Kreme for apps and desert. Maybe I can do a Krispy Kreme s'more mashup?

Tonight's dinner should be fun :-) I am teaching outdoor cooking at Cub Scouts tonight. We will be making tin foil dinners on the fire with hamburger patties, chicken, potatoes and carrots. For dessert we are making s'mores cones on the grill with sugar cones filled with marshmallows, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, chopped nuts, etc. There will also be lots of hot cocoa made on the camp stove to keep everyone warm!

I owe someone a happy belated Birthday. I do hope your Birthday day and breakfast were wonderful.

Last night's dinner was Chicken Parmesan at a tiny family run restaurant with Momma. We had decided it would be easier to eat out the day I drove down. I was guessing that would be our only dinner out while I was down here but I was wrong.

Tonight my Momma is taking me to a Biker Bar for dinner. I did a double take when she said that and then I scraped my jaw off of the table. Momma and a group of about 11 other ladies (all widows) go out to dinner every other Wednesday. Next Wednesday they are going to the biker bar (The Beaver Bar in Murrrells Inlet). Momma wants us to go and check it out before all of the ladies go. I didn't have to heart to tell her that I have never been to a biker bar before. This could be interesting.

Garnertoy - welcome back. You and your menus were missed.

Jdouglas- I thought of you this morning when I went to Publix. They had small containers of just parmesan cheese rinds, and they were pretty inexpensive ($2.30 for a bunch of them). I thought it was a brilliant idea as so many of us use them to flavor soup and they can just be popped in the freezer. I'm almost sure you wrote you use them in soup too!
