Lindabates, I'm continuing to send healing thoughts and condolences your way, especially with the services tonight.

Everyone's dinners sound really good tonight. It's 7 pm, but no invites?? ;)

Last night we had a spur of the moment quick road trip and surprise visit to a very, very smart young friend, and since our fave local Chinese place just happened to be right there on the way home, well, how could we say no. So tonight is leftover spaghetti and meatballs (finally) for DW and eggplant parm for me.

BTW, speaking of chicken, Earth Fare has their whole chickens on sale this week for $1.49/lb. DW and I might make a trek to the one in Cary and check out Publix while we're at it. The Naughty Princess will stay home to dismember any unwanted visitors, just in case someone reading this is getting any foolish ideas.

RFB thanks for the recipe it sounds real good. Have to try tomorrow as the dog ended up having to go to the vet today and not time to prep the tomatoes. Would you or anybody have a good recipe for pepper jelly? I have so many peppers of all varieties in the garden and want to jar some pepper jelly for the first time as well.

I was feeling proud that I planned out the menu for the entire week. Then while reading all these menus I realized the ground beef for our spaghetti tonight is still in the freezer :( The plan was spaghetti with red meat sauce, mixed salad, roasted asparagus and baked apples. Now I'm not sure what we'll be having....

The hubby and kids are on the own tonight: I made crispy ranch chicken and pasta before leaving. I'm doing the funeral service w the rest of my family tonight.

The lemon cake sounds so refreshing !

    Tonight : grilling pork chops ( bartered ), potato salad ( potatoes - Just Save $2.97 /10lb bag) , fresh green beans ( Food Lion $.99/lb) . strawberries & cake ( strawberries - Walmart $2/lb package).
BTW, Corn is 3/$1 at Walmart this week - very fresh . Food Lion same price - looks decent too

Stasan1- I couldn't find the one I've used in the past, but this one is very close. Wellness Mama always has great recipes, so I'm sure this would be worth a try!

Faye- fun! I might pick up some corn today, too... great idea!
