Tonight we had sushi at the request of my oldest. Just like GranOFTwenty, I had a side of tomato and cucumber slices (produce from the farmer's market - yum!).

Raesmom - how was the seasoning packet on the chicken thighs you fixed last night ? How are your mom and grandmother doing ??
    Tonight : chicken breasts ( Kroger - sale & senior discount) ,
    green beans - free ,
sliced tomatoes and cucumbers ( mine)
dessert: peaches (free) over angel food cake ( Kroger - sale & discount )

The dessert contest sounds fishy - she will probably get more than the value of the house from all the entries then she will own the recipes and can sell/publish them herself and make more money
Besides a house in California for $390,000 (??) It must be VERY ,VERY small.

Spaghetti with salad here too. Ground beef and all the fixings in the sauce from past sales. It's in the crock pot now and smells so good!

I find it interesting that the lady giving away her house is (a) charging $100 per entry, and (b) is a licensed real estate agent. Sounds very shady to me.

Dinner tonight, weather permitting, is steak on the grill (from a past sale), salad with some fresh basil in it, and gnocchi. I'm hoping to do a little baking too.

Raesmom- I saw that today too! After the B&B one, I've seen a TON of them out there, including ranches, bakeries, dairy farms :-) Seems a bit strange to me too, as to why she can't sell it... red flags (guess I've wised up since my recent B&B contest experience!!)

I'm sorry that should read a $100 entry fee not $1000, my fingers slipped away from me lol

RFB (and other resident bakers) Rae is too small to enter this contest, but did you guys see this? This lady is "giving away" her home in CA if you can give her the "best" dessert you can make. There is a $1000 entry fee but the house is valued at $390,000. Not that I want any of you to move to CA. I guess people are starting to get creative when it comes to selling houses now. Is the market still that bad?

LKKERSH- that cherry salsa sounds amazing!

I think we'll do Korean Beef Bowls for tonight. Got beef from the farmers market, and it's so simple to put together.
