ascherer - your family is in my thoughts and I am sorry for your loss.

I had hoped for leftovers tonight, but the hungry group ate most of the brisket and all the latkes last night so it's spaghetti and salad tonight.

Ascherer - sorry for your loss.

I'm not a deer eater myself. My husband used to hunt but doesn't anymore.

I think on the menu tonight will be a salad. I used my chick-fil-a calendar card today and need to do better for supper.

    I am with you RAESMOM1612

I have had deer - but not a fan
We give away all deer DH kills -

mini-cheeseburgers are on my mind tonight - with steak fries and salad .

Aschererer, oh no.... I am so sorry for your loss. And yes, I am pretty much done with 2014. Hoping 2015 will be a gentler, kinder year.

Raesmom and WFR, I always looked at deer meat like Bambi myself, so I hear you there. Yay for spaghetti! LOL

Tonight is finally going to be shrimp fried rice. Tomorrow will be chicken noodle soup from the leftover roast chicken last night. You wouldn't think you'd be able to taste much difference from one brand of fresh chicken to another, but the Bell & Evans chickens really are that much better and tastier. Worth a splurge every now and again.

Nakabi your roasted veg sounds delicious, as do your mushrooms. I know someone else here who is drooling over your mushrooms as well. Right Faye?

Raesmom - I'm with RFB. If you ever have extra, you can always send it my way. I love it.

No clue what is for dinner tonight. It will be something from the freezer more than likely. We had to make an emergency run into SC. A member of my extended family passed away. We had the time and wanted to support that section of the family. Is anyone else just really looking forward to the end of 2014.

Raesmom- oh no! Well, if you ever have any extra feel free to send it my way. I'd LOVE to have meat that is natural, free of antibiotics, and talk about free range :-)

    Nakabi- that salmon sounds delicious!

And tonight I'm doing the pork tenderloin. Last night we ended up doing a simple salad... nice and easy.

twoboysandadog-thats my thought on it lol. Mr. Nichols hunts (loves it) and it provides tons of meat! between the deer and turkey he hunts and the fishing we stay stocked up with meat. God is good.
Tonight we are having grilled salmon with cajun rub, roasted vegetables ( carrots, sweet potatoes, leeks, artichokes, broccoli, and asparagus). sauteed mushrooms with rosemary and fresh parm as a side. Quinoa on the side.

we will probably have deer spagetthi too with a side salad. I can't taste the difference when it is in a sauce. We had deer chili last week and the kids wanted two bowls. Free meat is always good!
