What's for dinner Wednesday?

Posted October 16, 2013

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

What's on your menu tonight?

jwstevens, there is a recipe database on wral here that may help:

If there are recipes you want added to it, I can add them.

For now we are going to stick with the daily post here on the blog for meal ideas and recipes, but thanks for the suggestion!

I am happy to make a post requesting healthy and frugal lunch ideas for you though. Would that work?

  • jwstevens04 Oct 16, 2013 would be great if we could start a page, either on FB or here, just for recipes...budget friendly, healthy recipes...just a thought I had....I'm always looking for healthy lunch ideas...and would love to have others inputs! Thanks!

raesmom1612 - you win the award for Best Meal tonight since you don't have to cook at all and you get to hang with your buddies!

RFB - your quiche sounds delicious!

Steaks from HT sale and I'm going to make some kind of quiche using the markdown hashbrowns from HT for the crust, plus the eggs. Leftover leeks, onion, bacon and will look for markdown cheese today- hopefully some nice brie or goat cheese. Salad on the side.

Chicken & biscuit casserole, made with $1.99 boneless skinless chicken breast from fresh meat counter at ht, frozen mixed veggies from some sale at some point, pioneer baking mix (used the last of it--need more!). aldi brand cream of chicken soup, chicken broth from a sale...yum on a plate!

twinredheads - that sounds like a delicious meal and my whole family would love it as well.

Tonight we are having BBQ chicken sliders on Sister Shubert's rolls with sweet tater fries and leftover salad. BBQ chicken came from LF last week for $1.99/lb and I am cooking it in the crockpot with honey BBQ sauce, onions, garlic powder and pepper.

Baked ziti, green salad and garlic bread. Kind of boring but we haven't had it in a really long time and it's something everyone eats!
