Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

    wildfrenchrose- you could also do a Jambalaya. I think one of my favorite creations is a Jambalaya but w/Israeli couscous instead of rice, baby zucchini instead of okra and artichoke hearts, spinach and chicken. This would be so yummy w/your sausage and would freeze well too! ;-)

    Sure Raesmom- I think it was originally on allrecipes.com But, simply add in a chopped onion to the crock pot, add in the ribs and 1/2 jar of BBQ sauce. Then after about 4 hours, pour off the grease (I use a measuring cup to get most of it out). Then add in the rest of the sauce and continue cooking until tender. Enjoy! We also loved the leftovers mixed into twice baked potatoes last night... yum!

    Thanks everyone--some good suggestions! Love the idea of cooking it with potatoes, onions, and peppers--maybe try that with another package some weekend so that I can slightly undercook the veggies then maybe they won't be mush upon freezing/thawing/reheating. As always, jdouglas13, excellent advice. If you ever let your address out, you won't be able to feed all the drop-in's from this blog...

    Dinner tonight is the turkey breast half I found in the freezer. I think turkey sandwiches unless DW wants stuffing and gravy, in which case I'll make some creamed onions to go with.

    wfr, I have a bag of rice in the freezer. I had made extra to make fried rice, but then had too much, so I froze it with the thought of making it into rice pudding at some point. I would think that rice is ok frozen since there are so many frozen rice and veg premade things.

    If you are serving it as just heated rice, I think I would try the microwave to reheat it. It would have enough liquid in it from being frozen but not so much that the rice would get mushy. Please note that I haven't tried this, just trying to think it out logically. :)

    RaleighFoodBlogger~it was you who did the bbq ribs in the crockpot right? Would you mind posting that again. I remember it was super simple, but i dont remember anything else lol. I bought a pack of boneless pork ribs and want to make sure these are the right ones. I dont want to have pulled pork sandwiches bc i left them in the crock pot too long hahaha thnx

    My neighbor loves the sausages cooked in the slow cooker with potatoes, onions & peppers ( all cut up ). Add some V8 for an extra flavor and hot sauce while cooking or "at the table" . Sorry I am not sure how well the veggies will freeze ...
    Could you cook the sausages then cut them up and freeze in meal size portions for adding to future meals ??
    How about "grill pouches " (cut up in foil pouches with desired veggies)??

    you could also make a soup with them as the base, i am thinking tomoato sauce, vegetables, maybe even a pasta. I use a frozen bag of stew vegetables or vegetable soup mix from FL. Or you could always use canned vegetables you have in stock. It would freeze well and you could throw it all in the crockpot to do the work for you:)
