    jdouglas13 - I have bought it many times and love it. The low fat vanilla is great. I also tried the Moose Tracks tonight and it is delicious. But I like yogurt so not sure if it would taste too much like yogurt for you.

    Faye, did you get to try the Kemp's frozen yogurt? I meant to try it with a coupon, but forgot. Does it taste yogurt-y? If not, I might like it. ;)

    Homemade pizza using the HT pizza dough ball for $1. We have an extra teen for dinner and he likes to eat (especially after a morning of football practice) so I'm also making garlic bread, a bunch of chicken tenders and a raw veggie tray with ranch dressing dip. They have a choice of Minute Maid juice bars or Kemp's Moose Tracks frozen yogurt for dessert.

    Observant, so nice to see you! That's a great idea to par-cook the potatoes, and thanks for including your method. I bet they slice up really nice after an overnight chill in the fridge. And yes to cold potato soup in the summer, especially with some fresh chives on top.

    Last night we had neither pork chops nor sweet potatoes, but rather spaghetti and sausage. Tonight is meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and asparagus from Aldi ($2.79/lb).

    Last night we did grilled chicken, broiled eggplant with red sauce and pasta.
    Tonight will be high temp eye of round roast with corn on the cob and cucumbers with ranch

    My family secret for scalloped potatoes :
    Cook the potatoes slightly before slicing and adding to the dish . the potatoes should be not quite "potato salad " ready - still hard but not "raw" hard .
    I microwave mine ( wrap them in damp paper towels; zap on high for 2 minutes; roll them over and zap again on high for 2 minutes .My microwave is 29 years old so yours may vary ) .
    Sometimes I pre-cook the potatoes the night before and store in fridge until ready to peel and use.

    PS - leftovers make yummy potato soup .

    YBAverage - That looks good. I will have to save that one and try it later. I just don't know what I want. I'll figure it out at the store this afternoon.

    Ascherer and JDouglas, found this scalloped potato recipe on Food Network. Looks pretty easy and you can substitute whatever cheese you have on hand. Good Luck !!

    Tonight we are having beef stir fry. I used a london broil that was marked down at Food Lion for only $6 for almost 2.5 pounds. I sliced it very thin and fried it with onions, peppers, carrots, mushrooms, squash, zucchini, cabbage, snap peas, green beans, and water chestnuts. We'll serve it over rice with fresh grapes and cherries on the side.
