Ascherer- Thanks for the info. I've never been to the one in Cary, but had planned to do so. We went to the Raleigh one for Mother's Day Buffet last year and the gnocchi was to die for. My Grandson said it was almost as good as his Italian great grandmother used to make. FYI - I noticed gnocchi is not on the regular menu online for either Jimmy V's.

Sad Wolfpack didn't make it to NCAA tournament!
    Condolences to all Wolfpack fans.

    Thanks Nakabi!

I hope everyone voted today. Remember, if you don't vote you can't complain! (Would have used b word Instead of complain, but figured it would be blocked. LOL!)

GJAN1- unfortunately I live in TN so you can't shop at the market I go to:-( But I would check the ethnic markets in your area. When I lived in Raleigh, I shopped at the one on Capital Blvd. They had the best price on lamb.

GJAN1 - Cary. It use to be our place to go to celebrate a few years back. It is not the quality it once was.

Since I found some Brie on sale at Kroger, I'm going to have cheese (brie and cheddar) and cr*ckers with grapes, apple slices, and dried cranberries for dinner. DH will have leftovers.

Asherer- which Jimmy V's - Raleigh or Cary?

Nakabi- please give info on where you bought cheap lamb chops. I'm coming to Holly Springs soon.
    Hey to all!

We had pork roast in the crockpot, creamed potatoes and string beans cooked with onion and rolls. So good and no room for dessert.

Leftovers for us. Made broiled pork chops yesterday. Whatever else leftover in fridge.

It's in the 700s here and perfect weather for grilling! Tonight we are having grilled lamb chops (4.49/lb at the ethnic market a few months ago) marinated in garlic, fresh herbs, and olive oil. Grilled mushrooms (request of my 6 year old), Israeli couscous, grilled asparagus (1.29/lb at Aldi last week), and grilled cauliflower. We made a chocolate cake last night so they will enjoy it for dessert. Cut up .99 Aldi strawberries for me the non-Chocolate lover:-)

Last night we made tacos and had a couple friends from church over for dinner. I used ground turkey that I got on markdown at Food Lion a couple weeks ago for only $1/lb! We always have tortillas on hand. We had all the toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, corn, sour cream and salsa. Sides of rice and refried beans which ended up on the tortillas and taco night became burrito night :-)

Tonight I am on my own for dinner so I think I might grill a steak and serve it on top of a caesar salad. I'm so glad it's grilling weather again!
