Kathy, I love that kind of soup. It sounds so good and it's been a while since I made one.

Well, dinner should be ready in half an hour or so, and it's truly pathetic tonight. Little shell pasta, with some salvaged broccoli and asparagus, garlic, lemon, EVOO and parm mixed in.

Baseball2hockey - Williams Sonoma is one of my favorite stores. They have an awesome return policy too. Not sure it's their official policy, but any time I've EVER had anything break, including electrics, no matter how long I had it, they replaced it. Very often I didn't even have the receipt.

And I totally forgot the strawberries. Sigh....

soup - base from leftover rotisserie chicken, added stew beef from freezer, fresh carrots, potatoes, celery, canned petite diced tomatoes, canned kidney beans, garlic & herb Mrs. Dash, onions and leftover wild rice. Side of homemade gluten free bread toasted.

Thanks Faye! Going to HT today!

Navy Mom - I just rinse, cut off stems and freeze. Here is a good site with step by step directions on freezing berries:

http://www.pickyourown.org/strawberries_freezing.htmI do not have a vacuum sealer, so I do the ziploc freezer bags with the straw method to get the excess air out.

baseball2hockey - thanks for the info. It sounds like a great slicer.

I got my spiral slicer at Williams Sonoma. I must say it was more than I wanted to spend initially but I consider it an investment. With a 20% off coupon it was around $40. Also, as much as I usually save with coupons on groceries I can go ahead and splurge a bit on items that last and are useful. I love gadgets!

Faye......how do you freeze your strawberries? Any special tips to know?

cdavismk1 - they are such a good deal and so delicious!

baseball2hockey - your new spiral slicer sounds like fun! Where did you get it and how much was it?

I think I'd better run over to HT at lunch and get some of those strawberries Faye. It's chicken breasts (HT) on the grill tonite with grilled cabbage and pasta salad.

Last night's dinner came out really good. It was a lot of fun and so easy and fast using my new spiral slicer making the zucchini spaghetti and slicing cucumbers for the salad.
For tonight I want to try making baked sweet potato curly fries along with schnitzel and mushroom gravy and more of that good salad.
