jdouglas13 - French Toast is good for any meal in my book!

My poor stuffy headed youngest could barely taste her dinner. :-( But again, at least it's not the flu!

There is definitely something very special about rescue dogs. My first Scottie mix was a rescue and an absolute doll. Her nickname was Huggy Bear because of all the affection she loved to give.

Dinner tonight is another freezer special. I think it's going to be French toast with some raisin bread I got a while back, a pomegranate-orange-apple salad, and a side of bacon from a previous sale at HT.

Gator Girll -- your dinner sounds so good! I'm really trying not to food shop this month, but I may have to break down and get a small ham.

We adopted our dog from ruf creek ranch in smithfield. They rescue dogs that are going to be euthanized from shelters and bring them to their ranch to be adopted. If they are not adopted, they spend their life there. The owners are true pet lovers and just want them to have good homes.
    I highly recommend them!

Thanks Gator Girl and Raleighfoodblogger. I will definitely check out both sites.

Barbiedoll- you might want to check with the Carolina Boxer Rescue. I have had many dog breeds throughout my life, and every day for the 3 years that we've had Ocean (our white boxer) I have and will still be so grateful for choosing a boxer. They are simply the best dogs ever! :-)

Barbiedoll - Please adopt. There are so many looking for a furever home. Try looking at Second Chance Pet Adoption. That's where we got our last two. Good luck!

    Happy Birthday Rae!

Faye, I have not tried the Ball Park smoked white turkey dogs but I will try them the next time I buy some. They sound delicious!

On another topic, we are looking for our new fur child since we lost our Bear 7 months ago today. Does anyone know where we can find our next fur baby? We are possibly looking for a puppy or a dog between 1-2 years old. We prefer a bigger size dogs such as lab, golden retriever, Alaskan Malamute, Husky or St. Bernard. I've looked at the puppies for sale on WRAL's website, but some of them are quite expensive. I would love to rescue a dog. I've looked at the Wake county website as well as petfinder. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
