    To RAESMOM1612: I have a toaster oven that I actually use to bake smaller things in, such as casseroles, biscuits, etc. As long as it is smaller than a 9 x 13, it usually works, and it uses less electricity and doesn't heat up my kitchen the way my oven does.

    Shepherd's Pie, kale chips and volunteer watermelon.

    Raesmom- sorry on your oven :-( I did a search and here's a great post from a past blogging group I was part of (and still some really good blogging friends!) They always have good ideas- and if you scroll to the bottom of the post you'll see a ton of recipes :-) http://foxeslovelemons.com/slow-cooker-chicken-parmesan-soup-sundaysupper/

    mmmmmmmm jdouglas those apple sound delicious......I may clean out the crock pot tonight and give them a try!! I have all the ingredients on hand, maybe I will throw in some oats too.

    Lol losltp!! My hubby would LOVE for me to use the microwave I'm sure especially in the summer time. We shall see......

    Raesmom - so sorry to hear about your oven. That must have been really scary especially with your helpers underfoot.

    You can also microwave baked potatoes in about 10 minutes depending on the size and how many. Make an X through the top with a knife first. You can make baked apples in the slow cooker. Leave peel on, remove core, fill with brown sugar, raisins, a few bits of butter, cinnamon.

    Last night's stuffed shells turned into baked ziti. Delicious and enough for leftovers.

    Tonight is going to be leftover potato salad and probably chicken drumsticks in the oven; possibly hot dogs for DW.

    Raesmom you may never use the oven again - except for Rae's dessert making ! lol
    I hope it all turns out delicious !!

    Losltp &TJ84~who knew you could "cook" in the microwave!! I only use it to warm up food, melt butter for baking or making popcorn (Rae is obsessed with it, its bad lol). The chicken with the sauce sounds good for them, I may give that one a shot.

    And BTW yes, i still do have the Froeman grill.....looks like you all have made my menu for the week lol

    Left over meatloaf tonight, tomorrow creamy chicken in the slow cooker, thursday burgers on the Foreman grill with "baked potatoes" in the slow cooker, Friday soup, Saturday chicken with pasta sauce and mozzarella and hopefully by Sunday it is fixed :)

    One of my MIL's favorite quick microwave dishes was chicken breasts covered with jarred pasta sauce then topped with mozzarella ( shredded or sliced your preference both do well ) ;
    cook in microwave on high until chicken is 165 degrees internally .
