Posted July 22

Strawberries

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

Kroger carries the Boar's Head items too.

Supper was Ribeye steaks , green beans and corn on the cob - all from Kroger sale yesterday . Dessert - peaches and angel food cake also from Kroger .

LOL the great ziti epidemic of 2014....hahahahaha Baked ziti will not be on the menu here anytime soon, but im sure it will be requested when i go home in a few weeks......so the epidemic continues.....

Nakabi~i feel the same way about my freezer :)

No idea whats for dinner tonight. If i have everything on hand for taco soup i may do that, but im almost positive that I am missing some things, so TBD....

ascherer - LOL about the great ziti epidemic!! I remember that well. Glad to hear he liked it after freezing and thawing. It is always nice to have some grab and thaw meals that take little time, but were made frugally at home.

jdouglas - thanks for the blueberry tips. I will give them a try the next time I make some.

barbiedoll1967 and twinredheads = Happy Anniversary. I hope there are many more to come.

FYI - During the great ziti epidemic, I mentioned I was going to freeze some that had already been baked. DH had some over the weekend and said it was good even after freezing. I froze it in individual size containers. He said he microwaved it and added additional cheese and sauce.

Nakabi - thanks for the laugh. Too funny!

I think tonight is leftovers - taco bake and boiled potatoes. Need to use them up before they go bad. It's easy and quick!

@wildfrenchrose - Lowe's Foods has the presliced Boar's Head American so I am guessing they have the kind you can buy by the pound there too. Harris Teeter also carries Boar's Head products (not specifically sure about cheese but they have the cold cuts so I'm thinking they would have the cheese too).

LOL Nakabi. Organized freezers are just an excuse to make room for stuff on sale. ;) Your... View More

nakabi - that freezer story is too funny! And what is this "organized freezer" concept you speak of? lol

We don't eat a lot of pasta at our house but tonight it will be Baked Ziti via the Pioneer Woman's Recipe. I am using ground beef my husband bought from the farmer's market. Tossed salad with cucumbers from father n law garden and sautéed broccoli from HT.

LOL Nakabi. Organized freezers are just an excuse to make room for stuff on sale. ;) Your manicotti sounds delicious.

I think tonight is old faithful - mac & cheese, steamed broccoli.

WFR, what cheese did you use to use for quiche? I might have a suggestion for that, but have never had chicken & biscuits, so no help there.
