jdouglas - sounds like you salvaged dinner nicely even with the yucky potatoes.

I will have to try the dutch baby pancake as well. Thanks for the new idea!

The dutch baby is one of those things I'e been meaning to try forever. I'm so glad I did! It could not have been easier, and when it first comes out of the oven it is hugely puffy and gorgeous. Versatile too. I've seen lots of recipes (minus sausage of course) where it's served with berries and whipped cream, or sweetened cooked apples.

It will definitely be making an appearance again.

The final dinner menu ended up being roasted pork tenderloin with garlic and herbs, buttered noodles with parm and parsley, and baby peas. The potatoes ended up being bad :( (which is why I hate bagged potatoes) and the pork was already defrosted.

Happy Anniversary, UNCW_Ash! Let us know where he takes you and have a wonderful evening. :-)

jdouglas, I'd be going for option B (with no meatballs of course because you know how I feel about ground anything. lol

I have to admit I had no idea what a dutch baby meal was so I looked it up. Those pancakes look yummy!

Thanks scoutmom. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a slow cooker sale to post.

    jdouglas~i vote for option B :)

Last night we had a dutch baby with cooked breakfast sausage baked into it, and maple syrup on top.

Option A for tonight is herb roasted pork tenderloin and potatoes, and some kind of veg.

Option B is cheese ravioli with red sauce (from canned tomatoes) and mini meatballs that I made a while ago. This may or may not morph into a soup, in which case I will add some chicken broth, kale, and parm.

Not so good for you fried pork chops. Mustard greens and blackeye peas for sides.

In the skillet. I am ashamed to say I do not currently have a slow cooker, but am considering it. It would be nice to come home and have the meal done already.

Tonight will be taco night :) Ground beef out of the freezer from the discount meats at FL months ago. I still have taco shells and seasoning from the great Old El Paso deal at HT last year. Lettuce from Carlie C's this week, tomatoes from Aldi last week. Cheese from the HT B2G3 last week. Wholly Salsa from LF a couple weeks ago.
