tldavids - I think you may need a Cook-out milkshake at some point this week. That's a liquid, right?!:-)

jdouglas - it never occurred to me to saw a turkey in half. You are clever!

thanks Faye, you're too kind! I'm told it's no worse than getting other invasive tooth stuff done. Had to have a bone graft done for the top implant and it wasn't bad at all! The worst part is the 'rules' you have to follow after the procedure as your mouth heals. Admit to being alittle concerned but not too much.

Booty and losltp, thanks for your burger suggestions!

Dinner tonight will be half of a bone-in fresh turkey breast that we got around Christmas when they were on sale. We bought two and the butcher was nice enough to saw them in half for us, and we froze them. Mashed potatoes and green beans for the sides. I might gild the lily with some cranberry sauce. Seems to me I have frozen cranberries in the freezer too.

tldavids - I hope you have a speedy recovery on your dental work!

picked up my Zaycon Foods bacon wrapped pork filets on friday and just fried up five of them and made an aujus to go with them. Delicious! Will have teeth implants tomorrow so I will be on liquids the rest of the week. Can't wait to try some recipes for the filets though!

A family favorite at our house is to mix about 1/2 of your favorite chopped onion (Walla-Walla is ours if lucky enough to find one ) , 1/4 to 1/3 cup of mustard of your choice and 1 lb of ground beef - form into patties( usually 4 for us) and cook your desired method and doneness. If you pre-make and freeze the flavors get even better .

I mix hamburger meat with Mrs. Dash garlic and herb, form into size hamburger we want (always larger since they shrink when cooked) and then grill until cooked to your liking. We love the flavor.

jdouglas-LOL at the "women of our vintage" comment. Don't forget us pregnant ladies! We understand, too... I've had my share of colds and "incidents" this pregnancy and I am only 32!

Thanks, Faye. At bit embarrassing to say, but we are going through tissues and Poise pads at an alarming rate! LOL I'm sure most of the women of our vintage understand. :)

On a completely separate note, does anyone have any good recipes for hamburgers? Nakabi posted how she makes her turkey burgers the other day, and I could use a good recipe like that for beef burgers. Any ideas?

Oh, no, Juanita! I hope the stew was cooked enough for hubby to enjoy it. Maybe I should do a kitchen blunders post. That would be fun to read since we have all made mistakes like that before, I imagine.

I am vary happy to not cook tonight! I have a gift card to Logan's that we got as a gift but didn't use yet. So - tonight it's Logan's take out (oldest daughter has a cold so we are not eating out).

I have only had Logan's once before many many years ago. I hope it's good. Who am I kidding. I am not cooking and it should be free or pretty close to it with the gift'll be GREAT! lol

jdouglas - I am so sorry you are not feeling up to speed yet. Here's hoping next week brings you both better health.
