Strawberries

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

What's on your menu tonight?

We are splurging on fish tonight - a rare event in our house. Cod filets on sale from HT which I am going to smear with a 80-20 mixture of mayo and mustard, topped with a bread crumb/parm combo, and then baked. Sides are going to be an attempt at baked steak fries from russet potatoes already in the pantry, and some leftover yellow squash-zucchini-asparagus stir fry I made the other night, probably supplemented with some green beans I got somewhere on sale recently for $0.99/lb.

I follow Savory Spice Shop on Twitter and saw that if you bring in any old spice, they will give you $1.00 off any 4 fl. oz bottle of spice.....I would call our local shop to make sure they are participating but it's a great way to save money on high quality spices!

We are having a big green salad with green peppers, cucumber, tomato, Vidalia onions, black olives and leftover BBQ chicken. Side is roasted asparagus and Sister Shubert rolls.

Rolls were free with HT triples and coupon. Chicken was $1.99/lb at LF this week. Salad stuff is a good deal at Food Lion and Kroger this week. Black olives are BOGO with coupon at HT. NY Texas Toast croutons are on sale with .40 coupon at HT.
