Posted May 3, 2013

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. Meredith~omg sounds so yummy. We got some rain coming next week, I see beef stew in our future :)

I planned ahead for once and cooked tonight's supper last night in the crock pot so it's already done :) Beef stew using stew beef marked down at Food Lion, russet potatoes from a sale at Aldi a couple weeks ago, sweet onions and red onions also from a sale at Aldi, baby carrots and mushrooms, once again from a sale at Aldi. With the cooler temperatures this week I had to take advantage to what may be the last of the "soup weather" for a while!

Dinner at church tonight-best price of all, FREE! Then we are going to baseball then the movies for Iron Man 3. Not free at all, but we very rarely go and my son is SO into those movies. Should be a fun family night.

Oops, dinner. Well, I was hoping to cook something out on the grill, burgers maybe from a FL chuck roast on sale this week $2.99, but it is way too windy to cook out. It looks like dinner will be freezer surprise! hahahaha

ascherer, yup that was me! :)

I saw the reggiano parmigiano recently for $8.99/lb at Lowes. I just checked the price, and it is sadly back up to $23.99/lb. I'm kinda choking that I missed out on that one. Just too much stuff going on lately to be as tuned into the deals as I'd like to be. But -- say it with me now -- there will ALWAYS be another good deal right around the corner. :)

Thanks for sharing everyone! Your Penna Rustica sounds very good, ascherer!

It's pizza night here and we had lefover BBQ chicken from the slow cooker from last night's dinner so we are adding that to the veggie pizza. Yum! We are also having asparagus that I got at Lowes foods marked down a couple days ago for ....drumroll please..... .59/lb!!!! I bought 4 lbs and froze 1/2.

I forgot to mention the Parm cheese on top. I think even that was on sale at HT. I have to agree with jdouglas (I think it was you). The Parm you buy in a chunk and grate yourself is so much better than the stuff in a can.
