What's for dinner Wednesday?

Posted April 24, 2013

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

Faye-Here are two recipes for cream of "whatever" soup that I have been meaning to try for weeks now.

Pirategirl-I'd love to know if either of these is the recipe (or similar to) the recipe you use. I love to know going in to a recipe that someone can vouch for it!

Faye, I've seen a bunch of pins on Pinterest for homemade cooking soups like that. I'm not quite THAT good, yet myself to really click on the pins though. lol

twoboys, THAT'S the difference....not cooking the rice in the crockpot!!!!

Jdouglas, that makes sense... I would always use condensed, like Campbells.

Thanks for the cooking lessongs, twoboys, smolder and jdouglas! I *really* need all the lessons I can get! lol

What's the recipe for your homemade cream of mush soup, pirategirl?? It sounds great!

I also love chicken n' rice! I have dumped a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix in it and it is YUMMM! Also, I now make my own Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken Soups for pennies a "can". I make several "cans" of it and freeze it for later use. It tastes better, no words I can't pronounce are in it and it is SO much cheaper...oh and I always have it on hand!

ascherer ~ if you go to the site http://www.heyitsfree.net/birthday-freebies/ you will see a list of restaurants that you can sign up with and they will send you emails for free food on your bday(that week). There are a lot to choose from, I only picked what appealed to me. Some are free meals, some are free desserts, some require that you buy a drink and some are bogo, take a look and see what you find....Happy early Birthday :)

Faye-you had to say falafel! LOVE falafel! A good Jewish friend of mine at uni made it and got me hooked! Some of the best falafel I had was in Astoria, NYC on the street! mm mm good!

jdouglas-yes, you can bring the shells along with the creme puffs on Saturday :) Make sure to bring enough for juanitas too:)
