What's for dinner Saturday?

Posted April 13, 2013

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

What's on your menu tonight?

I'm not actually sure what we are having tonight. When I get back from teaching, I will give the family a list of choices and see what they vote for. Of course all options will be meals we already have at the house like breakfast for dinner, chicken salad sandwiches, chicken and cheese quesadillas.....  I'll report back later on their decision.

Oh no, Kathy. I am so sorry you are all sick. I hope everyone is better very very very very soon. :-(

We are sick with stomach thingy. Yuk. I had eggs/sausage/toast for dinner. Nothing for anyone else.

Nakabi, to answer your question from yesterday I cooked the sweet potatoes fully last fall and after they cooled I bagged them individually in sandwich ziplock bags. Then I put the individual ones in large ziplock bags to keep them from getting freezer burn. Then when I want one I just microwave for 5 minutes. Add butter and yum.

We had spaghetti (got sauce & noodles when they were on sale at Target - Buy 10 get a $5 gift card). Bought 5 sauces & 5 boxes of noodles & we have spaghetti about once a week since we got a lot to eat....LOL :)

Making the fish tacos someone suggested (Gortons talapia .50 BOGO at HT and coups),and nachos (Rosarita re-fried bean .50, onions, tomatoes (F.L. .99 lb.), shredded cheese (HT B2G3), jalapenos (Aldi's). I started shopping Aldi's again...good prices, just not a wide variety.
