Aerogirl, normally I like the thrill of the hunt of grocery shopping IF there are good sales and I have good coupons. Otherwise, it has become a chore for me (and my back) as well. The good thing about a back injury is that you can only let the cart get so heavy before you can't push it anymore.

Observant, your kabobs sound delicious. I hope you weren't planning to cook them outside? I had to laugh about your freezer comment. I can remember my grandmother opening her tiny freezer and yelling at everyone to watch out. There were many freezer avalanches in her house.

Barbiedoll, me three worrying about you!

I really need to do some grocery shopping myself as I don't think I have a single veg in the house that DW would even consider eating. On the menu tonight is an alfredo-ish spaghetti with crispy prosciutto.

Faye & Observant--I thought the "whatever falls out of the freezer" statement was quite funny too---just make sure that whatever it is, it doesn't fall on your foot! LOL

Takeout for me tonight -- I was a 'good girl' on Tuesday night -- I had planned on getting some then, but ended up finding something to make at home. But now, the groceries are at a 'critical low' in the house, so I MUST grocery shop--just not tonight--not in the mood (then again, when am I ever in the mood to grocery shop?) Don't know why it feels like such a chore, but sometimes, it really does--anyone with me on that? :)

ASCHERER - I too enjoy a lite supper many times when DH is working evenings . I have to be careful what and when I eat due to the diabetes. I can not go without for extended periods nor go "carb only" - both could cause bad blood sugar numbers and complications.

observant - your statement "what ever falls out of the freezer will be supper" is hilarious and I plan on borrowing it often!

barbiedoll1967 - Well, if you lived closer, I would come bring you some quiche tonight. :-) And if it is raining as much in your area as it is here, I don't think you will be doing any mowing at all this evening. Have a good night!

Barbiedoll - I understand. Your dinners normally sound pretty light unless your DH is home for it. I'm the same way. When I am on my own, I prefer a heavier breakfast and lunch but a lighter dinner. I think cheese and Ritz are a perfectly acceptable dinner. Now my DH and Momma believe in dinner as a main meal. That just might explain why I lose weight on the road and gain it at home and Momma's.

Dinner tonight is probably going to be cheese and Ritz or a scrambled egg with cheese.

Fast night for us again - homework calls! Chicken nuggets, leftover mac and cheese and peas.

Kabobs(?) since I have quite a few veggies I need to use .
Not sure if it will be chicken or beef ( both) - it is one of those days: what ever falls out of the freezer will be supper .

BARBIEDOLL1967 - I am also concerned for you about not eating plus getting over-heated mowing for that long . How about picking up something to eat on the way home ( better than nothing ) - you can eat before mowing. OR divide the mowing into 2 or more evenings ?? I hope it is OK to ask : is you DH capable of helping you with mowing /yardwork ?? Not trying to be bossy or mean just concerned .

Faye - by the time I get home from work, it takes me 2 1/2 hours to mow. By the time I finish, I'm too hot and tired to eat so most of the time I go to bed. I'm rethinking mowing tonight because it's so hot.

YBAVERAGE2003 - I have a crockpot but I'm weary about leaving it on all day since I'm gone for about 12 hours every day. Thanks for the suggestion though!
